Wintering Together for Licensed Mental Health Professionals
Location: The Journey Home, Dearborn, Missouri
Dates: December 4-7, 2025
This work we do—holding space, listening deeply, witnessing the unspeakable—is sacred. And it’s also heavy.
In a world that feels increasingly overwhelming, many of us are carrying more than our share. And it’s showing up in our sleep, our relationships, and our ability to stay fully present with the people we serve.
We need space, too.
To feel held.
To exhale.
To remember who we are when we’re not taking care of others.
That’s why we’re hosting a restorative retreat just for licensed mental health professionals. If you know someone who would benefit from this time, please feel free to share this invitation.
What sets this retreat apart from others
- Exclusively for licensed mental health professionals – created by therapists, for therapists who deeply understand the invisible labor of holding space for others.
- A sacred space to exhale – not a training, not a workshop, but a true opportunity to be nurtured, recalibrate, and rest without needing to perform or produce.
- Built on attunement, not agenda – designed with your nervous system in mind, offering space to slow down, feel, and come back to yourself.
- Held by people who understand – every participant knows what it means to carry the stories of others. No need to explain. Just show up as you are.
- Nature-based and nurturing – hosted at The Journey Home in rural Missouri, surrounded by peaceful landscapes, nourishing food, and restorative practices.
- Focus on embodied restoration – expect mornings of gentle movement, time for solitude or connection, honest conversations, shared laughter, and deep rest.
- A soft place to land – you give so much to others; this is a weekend designed to give something essential back to you.
What To Expect
This weekend will be a gentle recalibration—a time to come back to yourself. Expect:
- Nurturing mornings and unhurried days
- Honest conversations and shared laughter
- Nourishing meals and movement
- Space for rest, reflection, and processing what’s been stirring beneath the surface
You’ll be in the company of other clinicians who understand what it means to carry the stories of others, and who are seeking the same thing: a soft place to land.
You don’t have to hold it all alone.

Meet Your Facilitators
Theresa and Walker bring a unique balance of professional expertise and lived wisdom to every retreat they co-facilitate. Theresa, a licensed mental health professional with more than 20 years of clinical experience, has been leading retreats since 2012, offering over 40 gatherings focused on deep personal growth, resilience, and embodied healing. Her grounding presence and therapeutic background shape retreats that encourage participants to move beyond self-doubt and into authentic alignment. Walker, a trial attorney with 30 years of experience, began facilitating retreats alongside Theresa in 2019, contributing a steady, thoughtful perspective that emphasizes truth-telling, courage in the face of fear, and the discipline of presence. Together, they create environments that are at once challenging and safe, blending ritual, reflection, and experiential learning to foster transformation.

For participants, attending a retreat with Theresa and Walker offers more than a weekend away—it is an invitation into a carefully held space where courage and vulnerability meet. Their facilitation style combines warmth and wisdom, encouraging participants to notice where fear, hesitation, or resistance arise and to meet those moments with gentleness and curiosity. While each retreat is unique, all share the same foundation: cultivating connection, clarity, and a deeper trust in oneself. Attendees leave not only with insights but also with lived experiences of courage, compassion, and renewal that extend far beyond the retreat space.
